Club Nights Update

Regular attendees will be aware that since September 2025 we’ve somewhat changed the format of our Thursday night meetings. While league matches continue to be played, we’ve added a second stream of events to the schedule. Alongside league matches, we’re running coaching, tournaments and other chess activities for anyone not involved in the league match.

Steve Lovell

Steve is the Communications Officer for the Bury St Edmunds Chess Club. He is also the Internet Officer for the Bury Area Chess League and the Suffolk County Chess Association. Since 2015, Steve has been the organiser of the Bury St Edmunds Chess Congress. Outside of chess, if there is such a thing, Steve works in IT at Greene King.
